Hi! I’m Rukaya, and I’ve always had a passion for storytelling. For nearly seven years, there was a special story swimming around in my mind, just waiting for the right moment to make its way onto paper. This summer, I finally decided it was time for Marky The Sharky to come to life! Writing about Marky’s underwater adventures has been a wonderful journey, and I hope readers love his story as much as I loved writing it.

When I’m not writing, you can usually find me curled up with a good book—I’m a big fan of mystery, non-fiction, and stories that feature animals, especially sea creatures. Reading has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m constantly looking for new books to explore something new something interesting. I also have a soft spot for baking. There’s nothing like the smell of fresh cookies and a new chocolate chip cookie recipe, yes, please! When I need a break from baking and books, I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s exploring national parks (Yellowstone is high on my bucket list!) or tending to my garden.

I’m already working on my next children’s book, and I’m crossing my fingers it won’t take another seven years to complete! Thank you for joining me on this creative journey. I can’t wait to share more stories with you!
